September 29, 2008 By Dave Kuehls, Running USA wire (AKRON, OH) Sara Slattery of Mammoth Lakes, CA, put a disappointing summer of running in Europe behind her by winning the USA Women's 8K Championship in Akron, OH on Saturday. Slattery, 26, covered the near 5 mile course in 25:54 to best Katie McGregor and two-time USA 8K champion Amy Rudolph, who ran 25:56 and 26:01, respectively.
