Mashkantceva sets women's marathon course record; Kedikou and Demissie top both half-marathon and Rothman Institute 8K races - PHILADELPHIA - (November 18, 2012)  - The 19th running of the Philadelphia Marathon included multiple course records at all race distances - in the marathon, half-marathon, and Saturday's 8K.

Mengstu Nebsi sets new American Family Fitness Half Marathon course record; Hirut Beyene claims women’s half-marathon title; record-size field of 18,702 highlights 35th running of event - RICHMOND, Va. – With a time of 2 hours, 15 minutes, 14 seconds, Kenya’s Kipkoech Ruto (right, James Wallace photo), 23, won the 35th edition of the Anthem Richmond Marathon, taking home $3,000 in prize money - $2,500 for the first place finish and an additional bonus of $500 for finishing under two hours and twenty minutes. Aziza Aliyu, a 27-year-old Ethiopian, was the first female to cross the finish line, clocking in at 2:40:21. 

San Antonians Jose Munoz, Elizabeth Eder become city’s first marathon champions; Country singer Jo Dee Messina runs 13.1-mile event before headlining post-race concert - SAN ANTONIO – (Nov. 11, 2012) – The Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon & Half Marathon benefiting Susan G. Komen celebrated its 5th birthday in style on Sunday, Nov. 11 when more than 25,000 entrants from all 50 states and 22 countries took to the city’s downtown streets.

PHILADELPHIA (November 6, 2012)  – Mayor Michael A. Nutter announced that the sold-out Philadelphia Marathon will be opened for an additional 3,000 race participants who were registered, but unable to compete, in the cancelled 2012 New York City Marathon.

Athletes who had registered for New York Marathon can receive 20 percent discount on registration. - SEATTLE – In a show of support for the running community, the Amica Insurance Seattle Marathon is offering discounts to runners who had registered for the 2012 New York City Marathon, which has been canceled in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
