USATF launches US National Road Racing Championships

NEW YORK – In its biggest single-event sponsorship in more than a decade, USA Track & Field on Wednesday announced that it will launch the .US National Road Racing Championships in the fall of 2013. The announcement marks the beginning of a three-year partnership between USATF and Neustar, the administrator of the .US top-level domain, to initiate and grow a national-championship, mass-participation road race.

As for each of the previous six editions, this year’s RAK Half Marathon on the northern shores of the UAE on Friday 15th February, promises fast times and fierce contests in both men’s and women’s races.

Five time IAAF World Half-marathon champion Zersenay Tadese will look to continue his incredible record over 13.1 miles when he lines up for the Hervis Prague Half Marathon – an IAAF Gold Label Race – on April 6.

Haile Gebrselassie targets hat trick in Vienna

Haile Gebrselassie goes for a Viennahat trick. One of the greatest athletes of all times will come back to the Austrian capital and compete in the half marathon, which will be staged parallel to the Vienna City Marathon on 14th April. The 39 year-old Ethiopian has won the OMV Champions Race in the past two years and now intends to add a third win plus possibly attack his own course record.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle and USA Track & Field (USATF) today announced that the first-ever USATF National Club Team 8 km Championships will be held as part of Chicago’s popular 40,000-participant road race on Sunday, April 7, 2013. The Shamrock Shuffle, the world’s largest 8K road race, is the traditional kick-off to the outdoor running season in Chicago for recreational and veteran runners alike. The introduction of the USATF National Club Team 8 km Championships elevates the elite-level competition, attracting competitive club teams and athletes from across the country to vie for a national title and a share of the $20,000 prize purse.
