Atlanta, November 22, 2012 – Over 12,800 runners and walkers kicked off Thanksgiving morning at the 2012 Atlanta Half Marathon events on Thursday, November 22, making it one of the largest participant fields in the event’s history. PETERSBURG, Fla. – (Nov. 18, 2012) – Thousands of women gathered for the Lady Speed Stick® Women’s Half Marathon and Women’s Running Magazine 5K on Sunday, Nov. 18. The windy 13.1-mile and 5K race started and finished downtown in Albert Whitted Park. Florida residents stole the spotlight, with Lauren Lumley from Sarasota crossing the 5K finish line first in 19 minutes, 44 seconds and Loni Smith from Lakeland placing first in the half marathon in 1:24:20.
