NEW HAVEN, Conn. - (September 3, 2012) - Matt Tegenkamp (Portland, Ore.) and Renee Metivier Baillie (Bend, Ore.) won the respective men's and women's titles at the USA 20K Championships on Labor Day Monday as part of the 35th Stratton Faxon New Haven Road Race in New Haven. Tegenkamp's time of 58 minutes, 30 seconds set a men's national championship record, while Metivier Baillie's time of 1:07:08 made her the 6th fastest American woman for the distance.

Nicholas Kurgat Beats The Heat In Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – With warm temperatures and high humidity, the 12th annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon crowned two new champions in the men’s and women’s races on Sunday morning. Nicholas Kurgat of Kenya was the first across the finish line on the Virginia Beach boardwalk, covering the 13.1-mile course in 1 hour, 4 minutes and 45 seconds. Running her first race in the United States, 21-year-old Rei Ohara from Japan won the women’s race in 1:13:38.
