Flanagan, Goucher 10th and 11th at Olympic Marathon

LONDON – Team USA’s Shalane Flanagan and Kara Goucher of Portland, Ore. finished within 16 seconds of one another as they crossed the finish line in 10th and 11th place, respectively, in the Olympic women’s marathon during a rainy Sunday morning.



LONDON — Not since Billy Mills’ storied sprint to win the 1964 Olympic Games has an American man graced the podium of the men’s 10,000 meters. That changed Saturday night at Olympic Stadium when Galen Rupp made his own dash into history to take second in the 10km, highlighting a night that also saw Carmelita Jeter win a silver medal, Will Claye a bronze and the host Great Britain three golds.

Team USA rolling on to next round

LONDON - Team USA advanced two men to the Olympic Steeplechase final for the first time in 16 years during a smooth first session of track & field Friday morning at the 2012 Olympic Games. In total, 12 Americans advanced to the next round of competition.
